AS SOON as Elon Musk took over Twitter last October, climate denial began surging on the platform, along with hate speech. Like many on the right, Musk is a “free speech” absolutist but is not so keen on critical speech directed at him. He’s now threatening a multimillion-dollar law suit against the non-profit Center for Countering Digital Hate over its research that details the increase in neo-Nazi and anti-LGBTQ content and climate disinformation on the platform since Musk’s takeover.
