BONO, MARIELLA Frostrup and co will be popping up at the Dalkey Books Festival this weekend, with David McWilliams front and centre as usual. While many of the big-name gigs are sold out (including Tom Hanks) there are still tickets available for less mortals like Deirdre O’Kane and Paul Howard at €20-€25.

The company behind the event is Dalkey Book Services Ltd, which is owned 50:50 by McWilliams and his wife, Sian Smyth. They will be looking for a further boost to the bottom line here following a couple of challenging pandemic years.

Over in his Iconic Media entity, meanwhile, Dave had built up a nice surplus of just on €1m by the end of March 2022. He has also just incorporated a new company, Kyivkenomics Ltd, which is obviously a spin-off from the high-profile annual Kilkenomics shindig in Kilkenny.

While a director and 50% shareholder in Kilkenomics Unlimited is talent agent Richard Cook of the Lisa Richards agency, there is no sign of him in this latest McWilliams venture.
